"partnerBeginning in March 2016, I’ll be partnering with the talented team of professionals at Wallis for Wellness (WoW) to bring prenatal yoga to their multidisciplinary holistic wellness clinic. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be taking this step with the WoW team! Wallis for Wellness is owned by my dear friend Margaret Wallis-Duffy.

I first met Margaret Wallis more than 15 years ago, when I attended one of her infant massage workshops with my infant daughter. This was my first sojourn down the road of holistic healthcare. As a new mom, I was very appreciative of the wonderful programming hosted at the clinic, from the infant massage workshops to the weekly Morning Teas that exposed me to a whole range of reliable natural parenting and health care alternatives I had previously been completely unaware of.

This is not our first collaborative project. Margaret and I produced the original WoW website in 2001. WoW has come a long way since those humble beginnings. In 2006, Margaret provided labour support for the unmedicated homebirth of my 3rd daughter and in 2010, she narrowly escaped attending the birth of my son. He was determined not to wait for her. Over the years, she has been a wonderful friend and mentor and has generously shared her knowledge and experiences with me.

Now it’s time for me to give back. I am extremely excited to begin offering prenatal yoga classes in the Wallis for Wellness education room. I love talking and interacting with pregnant women. There is a saying that “it takes a village to raise a child,” but I think it’s also true that it takes a village to raise a mother. I look forward to joining the WoW “village” to do my part to help empower expecting mothers and provide them with the tools and strategies necessary to achieve their best possible pregnancy and child birth experiences.
